NYCP Chorus

Welcome to the NYCP Chorus, the choral arm of the New York Chamber Players Orchestra,  under the Artistic direction of Giacomo Franci. The chorus, which will be prepared by Gary  Leavitt, Director of Choral Activities, will initially perform two concerts a year with the  orchestra, one in holiday season and one in spring- as the chorus becomes more  established, other performance opportunities may also be scheduled.

This is an exciting time to join a NEW chorus in New York City tied to an existing successful  Orchestra.

Auditions will be held for this SATB chorus at VISITATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY  CHURCH on SUNDAY 7/21 AND 7/28. We are seeking a small, highly adept group of 40  singers, 10 per section. Singers will be expected to bring sheet music and perform two  contrasting pieces in two languages, one being German- the first concert in December will  be the Bach Christmas Oratorio.

Expectations: Rehearsals will be weekly starting in September, for 2 hours, on SUNDAYS from  5-7pm, at VISITATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY CHURCH- 98 Richards St. Brooklyn 11231.  Singers will be expected to sell 5 tickets per concert or purchase them themselves. At this  time, there are NO dues expected from the singers. The concert dress will be black tops and  bottoms in the manner and style of comfort for the singer.
